BLEVEC Exercise took place on the 23rd October 2010. The aim of the exercise had been to test the various volunteer groups capabilities. The exercise scenario had been around severe weather across Bedfordshire over night where a number a trees and buildings were damaged with people reported as missing, we worked closely with Midshires Search & Rescue (MSAR) team in the transportation of their teams and transport of found persons from incident locations to the BLEVEC Rescue Centre setup for the exercise. We also carried out various other activities during the day under the request of Central Bedfordshire Council who ran the exercise.

Sunday 26th September
We have been asked again by Herts Fire & Rescue to support the 4X4 Section of the Ladies Driving Challenge at Bovington in Hertsin aid of the Fire Fighters Charity. There were around 75 ladies arrive for the day and again amazement on what can be archived off road in our vehicles; with a little bit of coaching on not using the break pedal on steep down hills. We helped raise over £14,000 for the Herts F&R Fire Fighters charity.

Sunday 14th March 2010
A fund raising Ladies day event in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity and Grove House Hospice
Ladies had to raise a minimum of £100 & in return got to drive everything from low loaders, dumpers, fire engines, 4x4s & more.

BHC4x4R provided 5 4x4s for the 150+ ladies to try round a basic but bumpy bit of wasteland. Much screaming on the hills & amazement about not using the brakes.
Approx 21k raised for the charities & we've made some new freinds in the Fire Brigade.

Saturday 21st November
BLEVEC Exercise. The operation was based upon a local block of flats with a gas leak that had exploded with persons reported missing and a mass evacuation of the local area. This tested BHC 4x4 Response traffic logistics role at the reception and survivor centres. We also tested our communications ability and our support of other volunteer groups within BLEVEC.

During the day an actual event very similar to the exercise scenario kicked off and we were on standby to go live, however due to the professionalism of our triple nine services we were stood down for the live incident.
